Pre Race

Race fans! It’s time for SPA 🇧🇪 📢

The final Formula 1 Grand Prix before the summer break takes place at the legendary Belgian circuit Spa-Francorchamps – a track that’s very popular among most of the drivers, including Kevin Magnussen. What does the Admin By Request powered racing driver think about the upcoming weekend – and how does he feel about the Sprint Weekend format?

“Spa-Francorchamps is one of those tracks that feels like it’s made specially for Formula 1. It’s a favorite on the calendar, it’s a historic track with a very fast layout, it’s fun and exciting and it has some legendary corners. As a Danish driver, it’s also one of the places where a lot of national fans attend, which I enjoy,” says Kevin Magnussen.

“I like the Sprint weekend format. It’s basically the same approach as on a normal Grand Prix weekend, but it’s a little different because you only have one practice session before you go into qualifying. That means that you’re under more pressure, which makes the weekend even more challenging but also more fun in my opinion.”

FUN FACTS: The 7km long Spa-Francorchamps is the longest circuit on the current Formula 1 calendar. It was part of Formula 1’s inaugural championship season in 1950 but the original 14km road-based circuit was dropped for safety reasons in 1970, making way for a modern version to debut in 1983. Spa-Francorchamps is known for exciting races (with 63 percent Safety Car probability based on the eight last races) and with only 165 meters from pole position to first braking point, the race start is often dramatic…

Day #2

Quick update from the Belgian Formula 1 Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps, where Kevin Magnussen made progress in the Sprint Race, starting his MoneyGram Haas F1 Team VF-23 from a P18 and finished 14th in tough conditions. K-Mag also managed to finish 13th in Friday’s rainy qualifying – however, the Dane later received a three-place grid penalty and will start Sunday’s race from a P16.

Day #3

“I had a bit more competitiveness”

Kevin Magnussen finished 15th in the Belgian Formula 1 Grand Prix after a weekend where the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team finally seemed to be able to fight for the points again. The Danish racing driver and Admin By Request ambassador sounded positive when speaking to the media after the race at Spa-Francorchamps.

“I felt there was a little more to fight for in this race. I had a bit more competitiveness. We still have way more degradation than everyone else, though, but I think we’re getting a good understanding of what we need to do. I’m looking forward to the second half of the year, looking forward to some upgrades, and making some changes to the car. Hopefully we can get back in the game, we’re still P8 in the Constructors’ Championship and that’s our aim as a team to gain another position from last year. We’ve got everything to play for,” said K-Mag.

Now, Kevin and his colleagues can enjoy one month away from the Formula 1 paddock as next round of the 2023 Formula 1 Championship will take place at Zandvoort in four weeks.
