Pre Race

Back in business! 🇬🇧

Kevin Magnussen and the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team have arrived at Silverstone, now preparing for the British Grand Prix this weekend. After some challenging races in Austria and Canada, K-Mag is more than ready to push back at the famous British race circuit where the very first Formula 1 race took place back in 1950.

“Silverstone is a great event because the atmosphere is fantastic. British fans are so much into Formula 1 and the venue is one big party, like a great festival. The track is also awesome, it’s always a highlight to drive a Formula 1 car around Silverstone. In addition to that, it’s one of our home races in a way as we have a lot of British team members and our UK headquarter is based in Oxfordshire, so yes, it’s one of the special weekends,” says Kevin Magnussen.

The Danish Formula 1 driver scored points on his most recent Silverstone start in 2022, and his best finish was a P7 back in 2014. Let’s cross all our fingers for another good viking result this weekend!

FUN FACTS: The history of Formula 1 began at Silverstone on May 13, 1950 – the circuit was originally a military airfield used by the Royal Air Force during World War II. Silverstone has hosted the British Grand Prix every season since 1987, and the 5.9km circuit renowned as a fast and flowing, which tests the aerodynamic prowess of the cars and puts a high energy load through their tires. Eight of the 10 participating entrants, including the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team, have either their headquarters or satellite operations in Britain – with many near Silverstone.

Day #2

Oh, no!

Update from the British Grand Prix at Silverstone where an unlucky Kevin Magnussen had to retire from yesterday’s qualifying session due to an engine issue. The Danish Formula 1 driver will start from the back of the field later today. The good news is that the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team VF-23 race car is fixed and ready to race – so let’s go!

Day #3

“We just need to keep pushing”

The British Grand Prix was a weekend to forget for Kevin Magnussen, who had to retire from the race on lap 32 due to an engine issue. As the Dane also had to park his VF-23 with an engine failure during the qualifying session, nothing really went his way at Silverstone.

“There was an issue in qualifying and then I didn’t finish the race due to another engine issue – so not the best weekend for us. It’s a shame of course, but it’s not like we were in a point scoring position. The good news is that the tire degradation was better than we expected. We have some work to do to find some more pace, but we just need to get our heads down, work hard, and keep pushing,” said Kevin Magnussen.

Keep pushing, K-Mag! We’re sure it will go your way sooner or later 👊
