When you watch a GT race, you usually only see the highlight reel. The launch off the line, wheel-to-wheel battles, one car crossing the timing beam a few tenths ahead of the next. But what decided those tenths happened long before the lights went out, mostly in places no grandstand can see.
Supporting Emerging Talent is our program for backing talented people as they work toward their goals, in motorsport and other sports alike. This three-part series follows some of the drivers we support through a full race weekend, from the preparation and the coaching to the friendships that form between people who are also rivals on track.
Episode 1 takes us to the Nürburgring, where JP Southern Jr. raced in the ADAC GT Masters. It’s a fitting place to start, because few circuits ask more of a driver, and few weekends show more clearly what the program is built around.
A Track That Punishes Guesswork
The ADAC GT Masters runs on the Nürburgring’s Grand Prix circuit, a 5.148-kilometer layout with 15 turns set into the hills of Germany’s Eifel region. It isn’t the fearsome old Nordschleife next door, but it demands plenty in its own right, mixing quick corner combinations with heavy braking zones and constant elevation change.
That elevation is part of what makes it so tricky to learn. The rolling terrain means corners arrive with blind entries and shifting camber, so a driver rarely gets the same reference points twice. Sections like the Michael Schumacher S reward precision and punish anyone carrying the wrong line by even a small margin.
For JP, the weekend was as much about managing those details as chasing outright pace. Knowing where the grip is, where to brake, and where a small early mistake compounds into a big one by the exit all count for a lot here. Experience at a place like this is hard-won and difficult to fake.
That’s the kind of setting where a young driver learns fastest, provided they have the support around them to make the most of it.
More Than One Driver’s Weekend
The Nürburgring stop wasn’t only about JP’s racing. Two other Supporting Emerging Talent drivers, Luca Magnussen and Marcus Terkildsen, traveled to the circuit for the weekend. They race in different championships, but they came to support JP and share the experience.
That’s how the program is meant to work. Beyond sponsorships, it’s a community where drivers across different series share the same ambition. This gives them opportunities to learn from one another, push each other forward, and develop on and off the track.
Those things might not show up on a results sheet, but they still shape a driver’s career.
Why We Support People Early
We back drivers before the results prove them right because we know what that early belief is worth. Admin By Request started in Denmark as a single product and grew into a global business by building everything in-house, one step at a time, so the idea of investing in potential before it’s obvious isn’t abstract to us.
Opportunity tends to flow toward those who already have it, in motorsport as in most fields.
